NPI is committed to fulfill the requirements of the European RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances.
Our plan is described by the following statements:
- Definitions:
- RoHS-compliant product : meets the requirements of the European RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances.
- RoHS-non-compliant product : may or may not contain applicable hazardous substances, not marked for RoHS compliance.
- We currently support both RoHS-compliant and RoHS-non-compliant products.
- All our products will be progressively converted until full RoHS compliance is accomplished.
- Upon customer's written request products will be built as RoHS compliant.
- Absent customer's request, we will build our products RoHS compliant (as a first choice) or RoHS non-compliant, at our discretion.
- We do not test parts or finished products for RoHS compliance, but we rely on the statements of RoHS compliance from our suppliers.
- We will NOT notify our customers of the changes in our products resulting from the transition to RoHS compliance, except via this page on our website.
- RoHS-compliant products will be marked accordingly.
Notes for customers with a preference for avoiding RoHS conversion:
- We are unable to exclude any products from our RoHS-conversion plan.
- In particular, we cannot certify that all applicable parts in a product will contain lead to prevent the tin whisker phenomenon.
